What Sky is
Sky is the UK's leading pay-TV and entertainment company, now a converged TV, broadband and mobile provider moving its platform from satellite to internet-delivered Sky Glass and Sky Stream. It competes on content and live-sports exclusivity rather than price, pairing premium TV bundles with value-competitive Sky Broadband and Sky Mobile tariffs.
Price tier: Premium
Ownership: Trades as Sky UK Limited, part of Sky Group, which has been wholly owned by Comcast Corporation since 2018. Own-branded stores are operated directly by Sky, with no franchise model; Sky products are also sold through a stockist partnership inside Currys stores.
Formats: Own-branded Sky Shop and Sky Hub demonstration stores in major shopping centres and city locations, alongside Sky stockist points inside Currys stores, online and phone sign-up, and a separate Sky Business channel serving pubs, bars, hotels and other commercial venues.
Growth: Sky has not published a numeric store-count target. Its stated growth is in moving customers to internet-delivered TV, expanding Sky Business, and its proposed acquisition of ITV's Media & Entertainment division.
